Making plastic fantastic in St. Brendan’s College

ECO-UNESCO’s National Director, Elaine Nevin, visited the Young Environmentalists of St. Brendan’s College to check out a greenhouse unlike any other…

This group of young people decided to re-use waste generated in the school in a creative and practical way rather than allowing it to end up in landfills. They built a fun, innovative and eco-friendly greenhouse made almost entirely from plastic bottles collected from their school, their fellow students and the local community. Their aim was to highlight the issue of poor waste management and to show people that with just a little ingenuity and a lot of dedicated teamwork plastic can be made fantastic!

The ECO-UNESCO Young Environmentalist Awards Showcase is on Wednesday 12th May from 11am to 3pm in the Mansion House Dublin. Free in and all are welcome to come and see the fifty amazing ECO-projects shortlisted for this years awards!
